Jocelyn Garrett is an American singer and songwriter based in Chicago, Illinois. She was born in Akron, Ohio April 24, 1990. She began her career at 26, where she received recognition for her track “United Anthem”. In 2019, she released her first album “Rebuilding”. The album heightened her career, leading her to make streaming charts on social media platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, iHeartRadio, and Youtube. Her album became #1 new release in Dance Pop on Amazon (November 2019- December 2019). In 2020, she released her single “Best Life” music video. The singer/songwriter is currently working on an album to be released in 2022, including 15 tracks with numerous featured artists.

EARLY LIFE

Jocelyn Garrett was born at Akron General Hospital on April 24, 1990. She was raised in the suburban city of Medina, Ohio outside of Cleveland. She began singing when she was 5 years old. From age eight to thirteen, she sang in the choir for St. Francis Xavier. She also sang in the theatre. In eighth grade, she became the lead role for the musical “The Music Man,” playing the fictional character Marion Paroo. In 2003, at the age of 13, she created a 5 track CD called “Necessity,” in which she wrote and sang all songs. She sold and distributed the CD throughout her Medina Community. She attended St. Vincent St. Mary high school for two years (2004-2006). She moved to Chicago at the age of 16 and continued high school at Hoffman Estates Highschool (2006-2008).

how it all began


Jocelyn Garrett tried out for American Idol in (2008) and The Voice (2015). She met local Chicago producer Justin James in 2017, that created her first EP album “Gold” and her first full album “Rebuilding.” In 2019, her album “Rebuilding” made streaming sources on all social media platforms. The album helped leverage her career into the making of her second album to be released at the end of 2022. She is currently an independent artist, who is the vocalist and writer on all her tracks. She is working with producers Eric Block, Justin James, Justin Lebreck, and Rev Deville.

She is working under numerous studios which include: Rec Room Studios, Soundscape Studios, and WaySound Studios based in Chicago, Illinois. Garrett’s music is generally Pop with elements of EDM. While consistently remaining pop, she has increased the incorporation of R&B. Her latest cover “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton was announced on ROCKONRADIO in New Jersey (April 2021). She has announced that her next album will include her pop genre but with elements of EDM and R&B.
